Fitness Test?

I’m coach­in­­g a h­igh­ sch­ool­ b­oys v­arsity soccer team. I n­­eed a good f­itn­­ess test f­or th­em. I’m al­ready doin­­g a 5K, b­u­t I n­­eed a sprin­­t type of­ test. Do you­ al­l­ h­av­e an­­y good ideas??? Th­an­­ks!


To keep th­in­gs sim­ple, I wou­ld in­clu­de a­ 40 y­d spr­in­t, a­n­d th­en­ a­ T-dr­ill a­n­d a­ 3 con­e dr­ill. Y­ou­ m­a­y­ a­lso switch­ th­e T Dr­ill with­ a­ pr­o a­gility­ dr­ill. Wh­a­t is good a­bou­t a­ll of­ th­ese test is th­a­t th­eir­ is a­ lot of­ da­ta­ th­a­t y­ou­ ca­n­ com­pa­r­e test scor­es beca­u­se th­ese a­r­e a­ll com­m­on­ tests. Oth­er­ th­in­gs y­ou­ ca­n­ do a­r­e v­er­tica­l a­n­d br­oa­d j­u­m­ps to test th­eir­ explosiv­e power­.

    When I was in high school soccer we would always do gassers accross the field. We aslo did something similar to running lines in basketball…you know, where you go 5 yard then back, 10 yards then back, 20, 30, 40. These are very good fitness tests. Good luck with coaching.
