I’m coaching a high school boys varsity soccer team. I need a good fitness test for them. I’m already doing a 5K, but I need a sprint type of test. Do you all have any good ideas??? Thanks!
To keep things simple, I would include a 40 yd sprint, and then a T-drill and a 3 cone drill. You may also switch the T Drill with a pro agility drill. What is good about all of these test is that their is a lot of data that you can compare test scores because these are all common tests. Other things you can do are vertical and broad jumps to test their explosive power.

When I was in high school soccer we would always do gassers accross the field. We aslo did something similar to running lines in basketball…you know, where you go 5 yard then back, 10 yards then back, 20, 30, 40. These are very good fitness tests. Good luck with coaching.
