i just started playing soccer again after about 4 yrs of layoff, what would be some good ball-handling drills and shooting drills???
Good rule of thumb is ALWAYS work on fundamentals. Just running around with the ball ALOT will help your feel and touch.
Also depending on the position you play you might want to
work on cones, weaving in and out,
stop and go drills (run fast with the ball, then bring yourself and the ball to a complete stop, then take off again)
passing against a wall
and shooting the ball from all angles, stationary, moving, and bouncing.

ok, so i am an overweight american teen ( i weigh 215 and i am 5-7)
and i am trying to get healthy
So i joined the Soccer team
i am playing Defender,
and our coach doenst really know what he is doing.
so if you have any suggestions on how i could workout
and eat,
and maybe how to better play my possition
that would be wonderful thanks
They say a defender runs about 3 miles in an average soccer game. I would say starting a running program is the best thing you can do. Endurance is a major strength in a soccer player. Try to run between 3-7 miles for each of your runs. I would also try to incorporate a lot of core strength workouts, and some upper body weight work to help balance out the routine.
As for diet- don’t restrict your calories all that much- you need your energy, and you’re young too. Try to select better foods rather than restrict yourself. No fast food, no high sugar food- lots of complex carbs, whole grains, veggies, fruits, and lean protein like chicken and nuts. Of course, drink lots of water during the day and a sports drink at practice.
(The above poster must cut & paste that answer for EVERY question– you obviously weren’t asking about losing weight!)

Im a serious soccer player but one of my weaknesses is fitness. I may start out and quit after 2 weeks. Or start out and quit after a month, but I always manage to quit. Now I know I need to not quit. BUt the problem is, or rather problems are 1)i have a very busy schedule so getting a set routine is very tough
2)I don’t have access to very much equipment (just an indoor bike, and some weights)
3)I have bad acne, so every 2 weeks i have this treatment, and for about 5 days after the treatment i’m now allowed to sweat at all, so i cant do anything then either
sso with all these problems, how can i get a good fitness routine going, and not quit?
If time is a problem, try trampoline.my fitness guide swears by ityou get mini foldable ones too. (Check the reboundair site) 15 min (or 5 min of sprinting) on a tramp = 30 min on a treadmill. + a whole lot of other benefits too.http://ezinearticles.com/?Trampoline-As-…
if you dont want to sweat try yoga
